A disagreement over DJ arrangements escalated into a fatal incident in northwest Delhi’s Mahendra Park on Saturday, when a group of youths allegedly stabbed an 18-year-old to death following a quarrel with one of them the previous day.

According to police, they received a report about a stabbing at Mahendra Park police station around 8:15 p.m. on May 17. “A team was promptly sent to BJRM Hospital, where a young man, identified as Bheem Sen, had been brought in with stab wounds by his friend,” said a senior police official. “Upon arrival at the hospital, it was confirmed that the victim had sustained two stab injuries and was undergoing medical care,” he added.

Despite the doctors’ efforts, Sen—who lived in Village Badhola in northwest Delhi’s Jahangirpuri—succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead shortly after being admitted. A case under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered at Mahendra Park police station, and a probe was initiated. Forensic and crime scene experts were called in to collect evidence.

Preliminary investigation indicated that Sen had been approached by one of the suspects—reportedly a minor—regarding a DJ booking for a neighborhood event. “A dispute arose between them about the DJ setup and booking, which led the juvenile to plot revenge. He, along with three accomplices, allegedly devised and carried out the attack,” the officer stated.

On May 17, the group confronted Bheem and stabbed him during a physical altercation. All four suspects have been taken into custody. “They are being treated as Children in Conflict with Law (CCLs), and their exact ages are currently being verified,” the officer added. Authorities are continuing efforts to recover the weapon used in the offense. Further inquiries are in progress.
