The police apprehended a cyber fraudster from Nuh, who was involved in deceiving private schools in Karnataka and Hyderabad. He used to send counterfeit payment confirmations to school accountants, posing them as fee payments for students. As per police officials, the accused has been identified as Salim, also known as Salli, a resident of Jalaka village in the Nuh district. Authorities have seized a mobile phone along with a forged SIM card from his possession.

Krishan Kumar, spokesperson of the Nuh police, stated that Salim’s method of executing the fraud was quite cunning. He would obtain contact details of private school accountants in Karnataka and Hyderabad through Google searches. After gathering the information, he would dispatch fake payment messages to them.

“Subsequently, he would make a phone call claiming that an excessive amount of fees had been transferred by error and request a reimbursement. In this manner, he used to swindle money from schools. A cybercrime complaint was lodged against Salim’s phone number on the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center portal, following which the team succeeded in arresting him,” the spokesperson added.
