The Mehatpur police have apprehended a minor in connection with the alleged gang rape of an underage girl. Investigating Officer (IO) Niranjann Singh stated that the suspect was identified as Gurwindar Singh, a resident of Vehran village. The IO mentioned that charges were filed under Section 70(2) (gang rape of a female below eighteen years) of the BNS, along with Section 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. He further added that the primary accused, Bobbi Singh, hailing from Umrewal village, had been taken into custody earlier.
