Amid a recent uptick in Covid-19 cases across the country over the past few days, district health officials are maintaining vigilant oversight of the situation. Four new Covid cases have been detected in Haryana, while no such infections have been reported in Punjab so far. The most recent three coronavirus cases in Jalandhar were recorded in January 2025. Since then, no new cases have emerged. The initial Covid case in Jalandhar was identified on March 24, 2020, and the most recent on January 17, 2025. Between March 2020 and the present, a total of 81,790 Covid cases have been documented in Jalandhar. During this timeframe, 1,993 fatalities due to the virus were reported.
According to health department officials, in 2024 alone, 83 individuals tested positive for Covid, and three succumbed
to the infection. The last Covid-related death occurred on February 24, 2024. Authorities noted that those who died had underlying health issues that contributed to their condition.District Epidemiologist Dr Aditya Paul stated, “As of now, there is no spike or emergence of new Covid cases in the region. However, the Covid situation in Jalandhar is under close observation. At present, there is no reason for concern.”
