Former Cabinet Minister and local MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa today launched long-pending infrastructure upgrade initiatives in the Industrial Estate.
Addressing the gathering, Jimpa stated that, with support from the Punjab Government, the restoration of essential infrastructure has commenced in the Industrial Estate at an estimated expenditure of ₹1.61 crore. As part of the project, ₹82 lakh will be allocated for road development, ₹71 lakh for the water supply and sewerage systems, and ₹8 lakh for the installation of street lighting.
It is notable that the Industrial Estate, spread across 27 acres and established by the Industries Department during 1962–63, consists of a total of 76 industrial plots.
However, over the past several years, core amenities such as roads, water infrastructure, drainage systems, and lighting had deteriorated, causing significant inconvenience to business owners. The execution of these works will not only enhance facilities for industrialists but also stimulate industrial growth and generate more job opportunities.
MLA Jimpa emphasized that the Punjab Government, under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s leadership, is placing high importance on boosting the state’s industrial sector. He further assured that similar development initiatives would be carried out in other industrial zones of Hoshiarpur in the near future.
