Two individuals were taken into custody with 109 intoxicating tablets as part of the ongoing Yudh Nashian Virudh campaign in Jalandhar. Deputy Superintendent of Police, Shahkot, Onkar Singh Brar, stated that during a routine patrol conducted by a police team led by ASI Balvir Chand from the Lohian police station, officers noticed a black motorcycle approaching from the direction of village Ghudduwal, carrying two men. Acting on suspicion, the police intercepted the vehicle and conducted a search, during which 109 tablets were discovered in their possession. The suspects were immediately detained.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Sonu Singh, a resident of village Toti in Sultanpur Lodhi, district Kapurthala, and Amritpal Singh, a native of Phul Ghudduwal village in Lohian, district Jalandhar. In addition to seizing the tablets, the police also confiscated the motorcycle.
A case has been filed against them under Sections 22, 61, and 85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Lohian police station.
