New Delhi: A fake govt job racket operating under the name “National Rural Development and Recreation Mission”, a fictitious body claiming affiliation with the ministry of rural development, was busted on Sunday. Two men were arrested from Laxmi Nagar.The case came to light after the ministry filed a police complaint on March 22. According to the complaint, fake websites carrying images of union ministers and senior bureaucrats were luring job seekers with fake advertisements and demanding Rs 299 to Rs 399 as a registration fee. An FIR was registered the next day at the cyber police station in New Delhi District.”The funds were routed through multiple accounts and withdrawn via ATMs. Over a hundred CCTV footage of ATM withdrawals were obtained and analysed, eventually tracing one suspect to Laxmi Nagar,” said DCP (New Delhi) Devesh Mahla.A police team conducted a raid on May 18 and arrested a man, Ikbal Hussain. Later, the mastermind, Rashid Choudhury, was arrested from a nearby flat.
