As part of a forward-looking effort to encourage road safety and responsible civic conduct among the younger generation, the Phagwara Traffic Police hosted a seminar and interactive session for NCC cadets of the 8 Punjab Battalion at Lovely Professional University (LPU) today. The event, spearheaded by Traffic Inspector Aman Kumar Daveshwar and held under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shri Toora, aimed to cultivate awareness about traffic laws, personal safety measures, and the contribution of youth in building a responsible road culture.
During the seminar, Inspector Daveshwar highlighted the growing importance of traffic safety education, especially in light of increasing road mishaps and violations. He outlined crucial driving guidelines, the hazards of negligent behavior behind the wheel, and the significance of safety habits such as consistent helmet and seatbelt use, avoiding phone usage while driving, and maintaining proper conduct as pedestrians.
The NCC cadets, recognized for their discipline and civic sense, participated enthusiastically. Inspector Daveshwar urged them to set an example in their neighborhoods by becoming champions of road safety and spreading awareness among friends, families, and the wider public.
“Youth possess the power to drive transformative change. When taught the principles of traffic discipline at an early age, they can play a key role in minimizing accidents and breaches of law,” Inspector Daveshwar remarked during his speech.
