CityweliveA 23-year-old woman died after falling from the ninth floor of a building at Lovely Professional University (LPU). Police said the incident, which occurred on Saturday afternoon, appears to be a case of suicide.
According to police sources, the woman, a former university student currently working in Delhi, had come to the campus to meet a faculty member.
The victim, identified as Akanksha S.N., was a native of Mangalore in
Satnampura SHO Hardeep Singh said, “The post-mortem report is awaited. We are waiting for the victim’s parents to arrive to record their statements. It appears to be a case of suicide, but the matter is still in the early stages of investigation.”
Kapurthala Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Toora confirmed that the woman was not currently enrolled at the university and was employed at a firm in Delhi.
